User Data Deletion Instructions

HiDesertNEWS respects your right to request deletion of personal information associated with your use of HiDesertNEWS.net or its Facebook and Instagram integrations.
How to Request Data Deletion
To request deletion of your information, email:

Please include:
- Your full name.
- The email address associated with your request.
- The Facebook or Instagram account, Page, or username involved.
- A brief description of the information you want deleted.
- Any relevant post, submission, account, or reference details that will help us locate the information.
Do not send your Facebook or Instagram password.
Removing HiDesertNEWS Through Facebook
You may also remove HiDesertNEWS from your Facebook account through Facebook’s app and website permissions settings.
Removing the application stops future access through your authorization. To ensure that previously stored information is also deleted from HiDesertNEWS systems, please send a deletion request using the instructions above.
Information We May Delete
Depending on your use of the service, deletion may include:
- Facebook or Instagram account identifiers.
- Page or business account identifiers.
- Authorization tokens and connection credentials.
- Account connection records.
- Personal contact information.
- Photos, videos, captions, messages, or other materials you submitted.
- Technical records directly associated with your account or submission.
HiDesertNEWS does not use information obtained through Meta APIs for marketing, advertising profiling, or the sale of personal information.
Processing Your Request
HiDesertNEWS may contact you to verify your identity and confirm which information should be deleted.
After verification, applicable information will be deleted from active HiDesertNEWS systems as soon as reasonably practicable.
Some limited information may be retained when reasonably necessary to:
- Comply with applicable law.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
- Establish or protect legal rights.
- Document a previously published news report or completed transaction.
- Maintain records that cannot reasonably be separated from archived system backups.
Information retained for these purposes will not be used for marketing.
Published Content
Deleting account or contact information does not necessarily require the removal of previously published news reports, public-interest records, completed broadcasts, or content lawfully provided for publication.
Requests to remove or correct published content will be reviewed separately based on the circumstances, applicable law, public interest, and the rights of the people involved.
Confirmation
When the deletion process is complete, HiDesertNEWS will send confirmation to the email address provided with the request.
